Automatic License Plate Recognition and queuing surveys can also be conducted using data from video surveys.

Temporary traffic surveys can be used to monitor traffic volumes, speed and classify. Two pneumatic tubes are secured across the road by our experienced staff at a predefined location to maximise data accuracy, and are connected to a Metrocount MC5600/5900 Vehicle Classifier which records every axle.

Visual surveys using data collectors can be done manually for a range of situations such as intersections, pedestrian and bicycle movements, car-park traffic movements, visitor numbers, vehicle occupancy numbers and other miscellaneous user specified surveys.

Territory Asset Management Services (TAMS) is the largest and most experienced data collection company in the Northern Territory. TAMS are a local company established in 1992 and has been successfully involved in Traffic Data Management since 1996.

TAMS has held Government contracts for the operational management of Traffic and Weigh In Motion data acquisition systems since January 1999, and currently won a 5 year contract to maintain and collect traffic data from approximately 100 permanent sites throughout the Northern Territory. This involves the supply and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure, data acquisition, processing and storage, data presentation and dissemination.

TAMS are constantly updating their equipment with new technology to make operations faster and more reliable, and are the only company in the Northern Territory to install piezo detectors and traffic count stations. As long term Territory residents our employees have vast experience and knowledge of the unique Territory conditions. Our operations take us to all major centres and remote areas in the Northern Territory.
